Hady — the sacrifice

الهدي

Obligatory for Tamattuʿ and Qiran. Ifrad has no obligatory hady. You do not slaughter with your own hand unless your group arranges it. A voucher is the normal path.

When. From after ramy on the 10th through the days of Tashreeq. Do it on the 10th if you can.

Steps

  1. 1If you already paid via your package, confirm the voucher date.
  2. 2If not, buy through an authorised channel (banks in Makkah, official apps, or your mu’assasah).
  3. 3Eat from it if it is offered to you; most industrial hady is distributed to the poor.

Keep in mind

  • This is not the home-country udhiyah, though many combine the intention. Ask before assuming they are the same animal.
  • Ifrad pilgrims may offer a voluntary sacrifice.

Common mistakes

  • Skipping hady on Tamattuʿ. It is a pillar of the rite, not a tip.
