Check-List
Agent, flights, riyals — add reminders
Papers, shots, and the house you leave behind. Hajj does not begin at the miqat.
Papers
Passport valid at least six months after return
Renew early. Hajj slots do not wait on an embassy queue.
Register on Nusuk and hold a confirmed package
Saudi routes Hajj through official packages. Screenshot every confirmation.
Mahram or permit paperwork, if it applies to you
Rules change by nationality and age. Check this year’s Nusuk note, not last year’s WhatsApp forward.
Body & shots
ACWY meningococcal vaccine
Saudi Ministry of Health (1447H): ACWY conjugate, or ACYWX, within 5 years — or the polysaccharide within 3 years — and at least 10 days before you land. If the certificate does not name the type, they count 3 years. The Kingdom reissues this each season.
Seasonal flu (and other shots your doctor names)
Crowds plus exhaustion. This is not optional if you are older or have a condition.
Walk 8–12,000 steps a day for a month
Sa‘i is 2.8 km. Jamarat is standing in a crush. Train now, not in Ihram.
Dental and GP check, prescriptions filled
A cracked tooth in Mina is a miserable Hajj.
Bookings
Flights that match the package window
Arrive a few days early if you can. Do not land on the 8th.
Decide Madinah before or after the days of Hajj
After is calmer. Before is easier on the legs. Both are valid.
eSIM or Saudi SIM, and roaming tested
Your group WhatsApp is how you do not get lost.
Notify your bank, and carry a second card
Saudi uses mada and Visa. Apple Pay works in many places. Cash still matters in Mina.
Before you leave home
Write a simple will and leave access to your affairs
The sunnah of travel. Tell someone where the documents are.
House, bills, and dependents covered
Someone waters the plants. Someone knows the school run.
Learn the sequence of your Hajj type
Tamattuʿ is not Qiran. Sit with this app’s Rites tab until you can tell the 9th from the 10th in your sleep.
Collect names people asked you to pray for
Put them on paper in your Ihram belt.
